Steele & Lucian to Present at HOA and COA Leadership Seminar, Oct. 20
The Prince William County Neighborhood Services Division has invited Heather R. Steele, Esq. and Lauren E. Lucian, Esq. of Compton & Duling to present at its 2017 HOA and COA Leadership Seminar. The event is designed to prepare board members and owners to meet the challenges of community management.
Heather R. Steele and Lauren E. Lucian will highlight topics important for running a successful annual meeting, which will also help Association effectively run special and regular board meetings. These meetings are the lifeline for well-run and productive community associations.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the importance of understanding Association governing document requirements for meetings, quorum, notice requirements, proxies, and how to promote and run successful meetings. Heather and Lauren will also provide a brief crash course on Robert’s Rules of Order and highlight a new statute available for certain community associations which may help Association’s struggling with obtaining quorum for annual meetings.
The seminar is October 20, 2017, from 8 am to 3 pm, at the Development Services Building at 5 County Complex Court. Heather and Lauren will present at 1:15 p.m. However, attendees will also hear from other experts on topics such as Virginia Conservation Assistance Program and The Role of Property Code Enforcement in HOA Communities.
Registration is $25 and includes seminar materials, lunch and afternoon refreshments. Visit the county website to get the full conference agenda and register online.
