Ms. Waters’ practice involved representation of local and regional clients in matters involving real estate, land development, zoning and permitting, business formations, corporate matters, loans and financing, transactions for churches, commercial leases, and contracts. Kathy has been practicing law with Compton & Duling since 1988; she previously worked in private practice in Washington, D.C.

In her business and corporate practice, Ms. Waters represented numerous individuals and entities in formation of entities, shareholder and partnership agreements, financings, and general corporate law. Her land use and land development practice involved special use permit and zoning cases in Prince William County, and representation of residential and commercial developers in site plan approvals, zoning matters and land development documents. Ms. Waters also has many church clients, representing them in real estate, land use, loan and statutory matters. She also has extensive experience in commercial and construction loans, as both borrower’s and lender’s counsel.

Ms. Waters enjoys playing golf, hiking and bird watching. She is active with neighborhood help groups.
