Legal Fees How
does the firm charge for legal representation?
Our fees for legal services are usually determined by taking into
account the complexity of the work, the amount of time we are
required to devote to the case and the results achieved. We
will discuss our fees with you during your first consultation. Although
there can be different fee arrangements, we ordinarily accept cases
on an hourly basis (charging for the time we spend at a stated rate
per hour) and receive a retainer to cover our final billing and
disbursements. Personal injury cases and other specialized
litigation matters are regularly accepted on a contingency basis, with our
fee being a percentage of the amount recovered. Criminal cases
can be billed on an hourly bases or at a flat fee rate. Our fee
arrangement is set forth in a written agreement at the time we
accept representation. Clients receive monthly statements for
services rendered that describe the lawyer's activity on the matter
and show the time and fee charged. |
