Chris joined the firm in November 2007, after being associated with other local law firms which had real estate and land use as their practice emphasis. He works primarily in the transactional area of the firm's practice, with emphasis on land acquisition and development. He has a broad range of experience representing clients in many aspects of real estate and business transactions, including real estate finance, commercial and residential leasing and business formation and governance. He has represented buyers and sellers in numerous commercial real estate transactions, including negotiation of contracts, settlement of commercial properties, loan document review and negotiation and related services. He has also represented numerous individuals and entities in formation of entities including corporations and limited liability companies, and drafting operating and shareholder agreements, business sale and purchases, and general corporate law.
Chris is admitted to the bar in both Virginia (1991) and Maryland (1999). Before entering private practice in 1998, he was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, serving with the 18th Airborne Corps, US Army Special Forces Command, and the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
Chris has lived in northern Virginia most of his life, and graduated from the University of Virginia, and the George Mason University School of Law. He is married and has 4 children. In his 'spare' time, Chris enjoys volunteering in support of various community and charitable activities, primarily serving young people.
