Lauren M. Mooney has been licensed to practice law since 1999, when she was admitted to the bar in both Virginia and Maryland. Since then she was admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and to appear before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to joining Compton & Duling, LC in June of 2005, she began her professional career representing various Community Associations entities and handling single family real estate transactions.

Ms. Mooney practices transactional law in matters relating to the development of single and multi-family residential and commercial projects. She represents real estate developers in zoning and land use matters and in the formation of residential and commercial community associations in Virginia. In addition, Ms. Mooney provides counsel regarding the acquisition and sale of property including 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges.

Ms. Mooney holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from James Madison University. In 1999, she graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. She is a member of the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia bar associations.
